Mike Caflisch Chairman and Co-Founder Mike Caflisch is the founder and principal of Strategy1 Advisors, a boutique, global management consulting firm specializing in full life-cycle business strategy development and advisory services linking strategy to operational execution. During
his 40+ years in the aviation industry, Caflisch has worked in a multitude
of professional disciplines including engineering, avionics
systems/integration, product
management, sales/marketing, business/corporate development, strategy,
and program management. From 2014 to 2021, Caflisch served as chief executive officer of Aircraft Performance Group. Having been selected a 2021 Titan 100, a nomination recognizing Colorado’s Top 100 CEO’s and C-level executives, Caflisch served most recently as an Executive Board Member of the AFV Aviation Vertical with a focus on corporate development and strategic initiatives. Previously, Caflisch served as director of Airspace Programs for The Boeing Company’s Commercial Aviation Services (CAS) unit and was responsible for programs supporting flight optimization, airspace and navigation procedure design, and air traffic management. Prior to that, he led strategy and business development for Boeing’s Flight Services business. Caflisch holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and mechanics from the University of Minnesota and a master of business administration from the University of St. Thomas. |
David Mittleman Vice Chairman and Co-Founder David Mittleman, regional manager Northwest for Avfuel Corporation, has worked in the fuel and aviation business for more than 20 years. Since joining Avfuel in 2011, Mittleman has held key roles including regional manager and senior sales manager, where he has been instrumental in building relationships with airports/FBOs and enhancing the Avfuel Network for flight departments across the U.S. and Canada. He was appointed regional manager Northwest in 2024, expanding his responsibilities to include Avfuel Contract Fuel sales alongside truckload fuel sales, which is often associated with Avfuel’s branded network accounts. Prior to joining Avfuel, Mittleman held various sales and marketing leadership roles with Garsite/Progress Tank and Westmor Industries. Mittleman’s strong leadership skills and enthusiasm for customer care continue to drive growth and nurture long-standing partnerships. Mittleman earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston University’s School of Management in 1989, after which he began a successful career in marketing and sales for various companies and industries, working his way into both managerial and executive roles. |
Chris Sundberg Secretary and Co-Founder Chris Sundberg is a partner with Husch Blackwell, LLP. With a deep background in aviation, Chris often represents commercial airline and business aviation clients. He provides advice on the purchase, sale and lease of aircraft and he drafts agreements for the maintenance of aircraft and aircraft engines. Chris also offers federal regulatory guidance to aviation-related clients, including air carriers and airports, on matters related to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT) and Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. |
Stuart Illian Co-Founder and At-Large Board Member Stuart Illian is the Co-Founder and Chief Aviation Officer of Bluetail, the leading digital aircraft records platform for business aviation. He has held key positions at notable companies including Apple, Deloitte, Lockheed Martin and, most recently, Textron. One of the highlights of Stuart’s career was managing the $100+ million Apple-branded software business at their wholly owned subsidiary Claris. He later joined XOOM.com, an Internet start-up that had a highly successful initial public offering in 1998. After successfully selling his interest in a business aviation training provider LOFT, Stuart ran business development for another training provider (ProFlight) where he played a key role in growing their client base, culminating in the company being acquired by Textron’s TRU Simulation + Training division in 2014. Stuart attended the University of North Dakota where he attained an FAA Commercial Pilot License and Instrument Rating and graduated from the Ohio State University where he earned his BSBA degree in Accounting with a Minor in Aviation Management. |
Kelly Frontczak Co-Founder and At-Large Board Member Kelly Frontczak has been with jetCenters of Colorado since 2021 and is currently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, helping create a company culture that provides a unique client experience and is a critical part of the jetCenters leadership team. Kelly engages with her professional network of pilots and aviation experts, and she actively seeks and gathers unique perspectives from executives outside the industry. Kelly brings with her a high level of professionalism and capacity from her time at Enterprise Holdings Inc., where she worked for 20 years in various leadership, sales, and marketing roles. Some of those roles required her to develop an in-depth understanding of other industries customers’ expectations, allowing her to build strong relationships within aviation, primarily with FBOs and luxury hotels. Kelly has a long-standing reputation for creating an exclusive experience for customers, sustainable business development, and improving organizational and departmental structures while elevating the people around her. Kelly served as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Colorado Aviation Business Association and is currently a founding Board Member for the Colorado Aviation Network. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Colorado State University and has experience working all over the state of Colorado and Southern Wyoming. |
